Poem In Two Parts

00139

Manic Depression is kamikaze assault on the

the delicate emotional  constructs

of self deluded purpose ,

leaving only a blistered and

Beaten slag heap of self abnegation.

The regrets of old age

The folly’s of youth

The vanity of the middle years.

The transgressions in which

Our souls  marinate.

A curious litany  of ineptitudes

that is hard to make sense of and

That  does not add up to anything much.

In so many ways it all seems for naught.
